WHOLESOME
(World Issue: Through the Lens of Medicine)
SCOPE CIMSA FK UNS
This year, SCOPE CIMSA FK UNS held a brand new event: WHOLESOME (World Issue: Through the Lens of Medicine) which brought topics surrounding medicine to the public for educational purposes. WHOLESOME brings us a topic concerning Indonesia’s healthcare system, specifically its service and handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. With over 300 participants, the average score of participants is 77,4. As of right now, many of the general public with limited access towards information concerning the state of our country during the pandemic, most often than not, cause distress towards the rest of the population. With that in mind, WHOLESOME aims to increase understanding of the general public concerning our healthcare system along with other countries healthcare systems during this pandemic by at least 20% as a way to measure our strengths and weaknesses. Also, along with that, our goal is to increase awareness of the public towards contributions that the general public can make to decrease the COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. For that to happen, we’ve invited dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, M.Epid to explain matters concerning Indonesia’s healthcare system during the pandemic. With the enthusiasm of the participants during the webinar and the Q&A session, the result of the post-test managed to increase up to 2,5 points from 77,4 become 80. In addition, we also invited 2 speakers who are currently studying abroad in Korea and Australia to discuss the kind of healthcare they received in a foreign country as a student during the pandemic. It is with great relief to say that the participants participated enthusiastically. Each of them gave out questions to further discuss matters concerning the healthcare system outside of Indonesia. Along with that, discussion about what we can do as a citizen to help our government is also greatly appreciated. It is safe to say that this year, WHOLESOME’s first year, was a great success. Achieving to invite over 100 participants, young to old, from all over the country and also increase the general knowledge and understanding towards Indonesia's healthcare system during the pandemic by the average post-test score of participants is 80, along with their knowledge concerning ways they can contribute as a citizen to help our country win against the current pandemic. We hope that WHOLESOME will be held once again, and can provide many benefits for society for so forth.
