(World Diabetes Day)
SCOPH CIMSA UI
SCOPH CIMSA UI has recently held World Diabetes Day 2019 on Thursday, November 14th, 2019 at UI Health Cluster 3rd C Building and Sunday, December 1st, 2019 at Kompleks Samudera Indonesia. The theme of this year's World Diabetes Day event is “Diabetes and Family”. This year, we also made a new project called Be Healthy with SCOPH UI which will be on November 9th, 2019 until November 14th, 2019.
Be Healthy with SCOPH UI was filled with various activities to promote a healthier life, such as eating vegetables and fruits, upgrading water intake, swimming, and jogging in the morning. This program was held in the vibe of World Diabetes Day to implement a better and healthier lifestyle during the workload.
The second event namely the Ground Campaign which was held on Thursday, November 14th, 2019 on the 3rd Floor of UI Health Cluster C Building was attended by FKUI students from batches 2019 to 2017. In addition, there was also a photo booth with a unique blue circle of World Diabetes Day. This event started at 10:00 until 13:00
Furthermore, we also held an event at Kompleks Samudera Indonesia on Sunday, December 1st, 2019. The event was attended by residents of the Samudera Complex. The event began with doing gymnastics together with local residents led by the gymnastic instructor.
The program was followed by a medical examination of height, weight, abdominal circumference, blood pressure, and blood sugar. After that, residents were given education related to diabetes. This health check was conducted by members of the SCOPH CIMSA UI.
After completing the health checkup, it was followed by a counseling program about diabetes. Before entering into the counseling material, the event began with a cross puzzle game in the form of groups. Next, a pre-test was done before inviting the speaker. The counseling program was then given by Dr. Krisadelva Sutanto, M. Nutrition, Sp.GK. The counseling about diabetes occurred for approximately one hour.
Finally, a cooking demonstration session was led by Alifia Maharani from SCORP members. The dishes made at the cooking demonstration included oyster sausage and capcay with fish balls, all of which can be made by the residents of Samudera Complex as a healthy menu. All the Samudera Complex mothers were very enthusiastic and welcoming. In addition, the healthy menu recipe book was distributed by SCOPH CIMSA UI with calories information on each menu. The event ended with photos together with the committee with residents of the Samudera Complex.
The series of World Diabetes Day activities this year consisted of many different events with diverse targets. This was intended to provide education and benefits for all levels of society. Hopefully, this event of SCOPH CIMSA UI will be useful and provide positivity, as well as the knowledge that can be applied in their everyday life.
See you next year!
