WDD-PETAI
(World Diabetes Day-Prevent Diabetes by Changing Your Lifestyle)
SCOPH CIMSA UNIMAL
To commemorate World Diabetes Day, SCOPH CIMSA Unimal held an activity called PETAI: Prevent Diabetes By Changing Your Lifestyle. This activity aims to increase public awareness, especially the younger generation, about present viral foods, especially foods high in sugar, which are often consumed so that they are at risk of suffering from diabetes.
This series of activities was carried out for 3 days from November 19 to November 21 in the form of an Air Campaign. On November 19, 2020, at 5 PM WIB, the activity was opened by LPO CIMSA Unimal via chat on the WhatsApp group. Then proceed with the distribution of materials to be uploaded by the participants along with the pretest link which contains questions related to food and daily activities of the participants.
On first day, participants upload the infographic and bingo on their Instagram story. On November 20 participants upload the second day material, namely Quiz and This or That. The quiz contains food habits that are at risk of causing diabetes. On November 21, 2020, participants uploaded Challenge stories and Videos about Diabetes on IGTV CIMSA Unimal. For 3 days the material was uploaded simultaneously at 7 PM WIB and After 24 hours, a report on the number of viewers was carried out to the committee via a google form. On November 22, 2020, at 7 PM WIB, the Project Officer closed and distributed certificates to participants.
In this activity, SCOPH CIMSA Unimal collaborates with Sobat Diabet as a media partner and educational media. The educational material provided by Sobat Diabet is the 3J eating strategy. During the activity, the enthusiasm of the participants was not too high, this can be seen from the 24 participants who registered, only about 14 people who were consistent in uploading and reporting the number of viewers to the committee. However, this did not affect the event because some participants still uploaded it even though it was too late.
We hope that through this activity the younger generation can realize that behind the deliciousness of recent viral foods and drinks that are high in sugar there is diabetes that threatens them so that they are more careful in consuming contemporary food and always maintain their health because prevention is better than cure.
