Hi, CIMSA! According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia through the World Cancer Day article, the incidence of cancer in Indonesia is at number 8 in Southeast Asia, with the highest incidence of cancer in women being breast cancer. It shows that the prevalence of breast cancer in Indonesia is still increasing and requires efforts from various parties to control it. Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer among women.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a health campaign that is celebrated around the world during the month of October every year. This campaign aims to raise public awareness of breast cancer. In commemoration of this event, CIMSA Lokal UNISSULA participated in the commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month by holding an event as well as celebration entitled “WARRIOR 2.0: Awareness of Breast Cancer with SCORA CIMSA UNISSULA.”

Warrior 2.0 started by promoting the activities by distributing webinar and talk show posters on Friday, October 15th 2021 and continued with a webinar and talkshow with the speakers on Saturday, October 17th 2021. Not only discussing medical issues, CIMSA Lokal UNISSULA also presented another perspective from the point of view of breast cancer survivors in WARRIOR 2.0. In this activity, CIMSA Lokal UNISSULA’s SCORA presented spectacular speakers, Lovepink breast cancer survivors, namely Mrs. Roza Marthalisa and Mrs. Rusyda. Lovepink is an association of survivors or people who have had breast cancer. In addition, SCORA CIMSA Lokal UNISSULA  also invited a doctor to give an opinion about cancer from a medical point of view, namely dr. A’an Haries Pranoewo. He is one of the alumni of  SCORA CIMSA Lokal UNISSULA’s batch 2014.

With the holding of this webinar and talkshow, it is hoped that SCORA CIMSA Lokal UNISSULA can help directly or indirectly in improving the level of public health related to increasing knowledge and awareness of the community and medical students, especially those of productive age, regarding early detection by “gerakan periksa payudara sendiri (SADARI)”, “gerakan periksa payudara klinis (SADANIS)”, and many more.
