WAD: GOING TO THE THREE ZERO, "WILL WE ABLE TO?"
SCORA CIMSA FK YARSI
In Indonesia, the HIV/AIDS epidemic has increased every year since it was first reported (in 1987). The most spike was in 2016 compared to 2015, which was 10.315. According to SIHA's 2013-2017 report from the reported service, the number of people carrying out HIV tests has increased except in 2017. The possibility that occurred is caused by HIV testing until now is still voluntary with low public awareness. The stigma attached to HIV/AIDS is so strong that people should want to know their HIV status and come to the laboratory to do HIV testing for reasons of embarrassment, reluctance, fear, etc (InfoDATIN HIV/AIDS, 2018).
Based on this background, SCORA CIMSA FK YARSI took the initiative to hold a webinar. Besides celebrating World AIDS Day, this event also aims to provide education to the public about information for HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infection, how to prevent the transmission of HIV, how to avoid stigmatization of PLWHA, how to prevent the complication of HIV/AIDS and how to get counseling during the pandemic.
The webinar was held on December 12th, 2020, with five speakers, Dr. Lely Wahyuniar, MSc, dr. Lusiana, Sp.DV, dr. Teguh Harjono Karjadi, Sp.PD. K-AI, dr. Maya Trisiswati, MKM, and Patrick Johannes Laurens.
Dr. Lely explained materials related to the transmission and prevention of HIV/AIDS. Patrick Johannes explained about sharing the experience of PLHWA in Indonesia.
dr. Lusiana explained basic information for HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, dr. Teguh explained how to prevent the complication of HIV/AIDS and dr. Maya explained how to get counseling during the pandemic.
There was a 19% increase from the results of pre-test and post-test webinar participants in session 1. These results indicate that public knowledge about basic information for HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections prevents transmission of HIV and stigmatization of PLWHA. This session was attended by 132 participants from almost all over Indonesia. In webinar session two, there was a 23% increase from pre-test and post-test webinar participants. These results indicate that public knowledge about preventing complications of HIV/AIDS and how to get counseling for HIV/AIDS during a pandemic is increasing. Eighteen participants from PLHWA Community attended this session. It can be concluded that the dissemination of information on this webinar is quite widespread. By holding this project, we hope this project will increase public knowledge in creating a free from HIV/AIDS in the future by adopting a three zero (zero new infection, zero AIDS-related death, and zero discrimination).
