SCOPH CIMSA UNISSULA
In commemoration of Tuberculosis Day 2021, SCOPH CIMSA Local UNISSULA held a TELESCOPH activities in the form of a webinar through a zoom meeting on April 25, 2021, and a live talk show on Instagram @cimsaunissula on May 1, 2021. This year, Tuberculosis Day event discusses the Prevention of Tuberculosis during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), the whole world has focused on overcoming the spread of this virus. Although cases continue to increase, the provision of services and operational systems for other health problems, especially tuberculosis, must continue. However, many TB sufferers and the community are reluctant to continue treatment, sufferers feel afraid and choose not to go to health services. Therefore, TELESCOPH was carried out with the hope of increasing the knowledge and awareness of CIMSA UNISSULA members and the general public regarding the definition, transmission, handling of Tuberculosis during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as preventive steps to reduce Tuberculosis cases in Indonesia.
There are two series of events that we do, on April 25, 2021, we hold a webinar through a zoom meeting. At the webinar, before delivering the material, we held a pretest to assess how much the participants knew about the material to be presented.
Followed by the presentation of material by Ms. Fitriana Puspitarani, a member of Young Indonesia for Tuberculosis (IMUT) who is focused on increasing knowledge and understanding of Tuberculosis. Questions and answers are welcome after the delivery of the material are complete, then posttest activities are carried out to assess the understanding of the material that has been obtained and assess whether there is additional knowledge about Tuberculosis. After all activities were completed, the webinar was closed with a group photo.
The next series to commemorate Tuberculosis Day this year is a talk show that we do live on Instagram on May 1, 2021, at 20.00 WIB. This talk show was delivered by Ms. Paran Sarimita, a member of the Fight for Tough Tuberculosis (PETA). The moderator and Ms. Paran talked about Tuberculosis. We asked many questions, there were also questions from the comments section which showed the talk show participants’ high curiosity. With this 45- minute talk show, we hope to increase knowledge and understanding of the symptoms, treatment, and management of Tuberculosis during the COVID-19 pandemic. As well as increasing public awareness of Tuberculosis.
With the implementation of this activity, it is hoped that participants, both students, and the general public will be able to absorb information well and be able to convey the knowledge that has been obtained to people about the definition, transmission, handling of Tuberculosis during the COVID-19 pandemic and preventive measures to reduce Tuberculosis cases in Indonesia. The hope of the committee in organizing this event is also to increase and spread awareness of participants regarding Tuberculosis, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
