SCORE Goes Public - COVID-19 Awareness in the Community is a SCORE Unand’s project that raises the topic of COVID-19 which is a global problem with the SGP level 1 and 4. SGP-CARITO aims to increase knowledge and train the abilities of SCORE members in the research field and this can be useful for CIMSA and the surrounding community.

According to the latest data from WHO, it is stated that the confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of August 2nd, 2020 were 17,986,040 cases worldwide, with a death rate of 687,563 cases. In Indonesia, there have been 109,936 confirmed cases with 5,193 deaths. In West Sumatra, especially the Padang City, it shows positive cases are 948 cases and death cases are 34.

This year SCORE Unand conducted research on SMA 2 Padang students who were selected through primary assessment. Therefore, SCORE Unand was moved to conduct research with the title "Overview of knowledge and awareness of COVID-19 as well as in implementing health protocols for SMA 2 Padang students".

On 4th - 5th September 2020, SCORE CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand conducted the SGP-CARITO Pre-Intervention where SCORE members were being taught about COVID-19 and implementation of good and correct health protocols in accordance with the standards set by the Minister of Health delivered by alumni of CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand, dr. Vini Jamarin, and Basic Research, “Creating a Questionnaire and Data Processing with SPSS” by Dr. Ricvan Dana Nindrea, SKM, M.Kes with a background in Research Methodology.

On September 11th 2020, 1st Intervention was carried out with an agenda of conducting validation and reliability tests of the questionnaires that was made in the previous intervention. SCORE members spread the google form questionnaires to SMA 2 Padang. In addition, the members divided into person in charge for follow-up and collects data within a span of 2 weeks so the samples was sufficient.

On September 20th 2020, 2nd Intervention was carried out to collect the results of the questionnaires using the SPSS application. From this research, it was found that the level of knowledge wasn’t related to the awareness level of COVID-19. Even though knowledge about COVID-19 is high, it doesn’t mean that someone is aware. Therefore, it is hoped that the promotion and implementation of health protocols will be more amplified so that it can lead to reduced COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, especially in Padang City.
