Hello, CIMSA!
SGP 1: SCAPULA (SCORE Training on SPSS and Journal Systematic) was held to learn the basic research principles through Journal Systematic training and SPSS application training. Because research in the field of medicine aims to collect, analyze, and synthesize information or data that is used in medical-clinical, medical-social planning, or for the development of medical science itself. In addition, this project can also prepare SCORE members to research for an upcoming project, namely SGP 4. SGP 1: SCAPULA activities were held to learn the basic principles of research through Journal Systematic and SPSS application training.

This activity consists of 2 series of events, namely Journal Systematic and Tips For Winning Research Competitions Training by Azkia Rachman, S.Ked on 11th September 2022 and Research Questionnaire and SPSSTraining by dr. Dian Nugroho, M.Med.Ed on 11th September, 2022. There are 15 medical students at Sebelas Maret University who filled out the pre-assessment, 73,3% of respondents didn’t know about SPSS. However, 54% of respondents didn’t understand the research method. These data show that medical students' knowledge at the University of Sebelas Maret regarding research and statistical data processing is still lacking and needs to be alleviated. The goals of this project are to increase the knowledge of medical students in research by 20%. And also to improve their skills in using SPSS by 20%. SGP 1: SCAPULA consists of 2 series of events, namely Journal Systematic and Tips For Winning Research Competitions Training by Azkia Rachman, S.Ked on 11th September 2022, and Research Questionnaire and SPSS Training by dr. Dian Nugroho, M.Med.Ed on 11th September, 2022.

In the second session of SGP 1: SCAPULA, participants were given statistical data samples and processed using SPSS in the workshop session. Most of the participants stated that they were satisfied with this project. There was a 64% increase in public knowledge about the systematic journal in the post-test. From the results of the pretest and post-test SPSS training, it was found that there was an increase in knowledge of medical students by 70% in the post-test. As many as 70% of participants can use SPSS well during the workshop. Up to 25 medical students participated in SGP 1: SCAPULA. This project is very beneficial for medical students in improving their knowledge and skills in research and is recommended to be implemented next year.
