SCORE Goes Public Lv. 1: CROWN (SCORE Training on How to Work on SPSS and Bonding) is an event with SCORE CIMSA UI members as the target. CROWN was held on Saturday, 17th November 2020 which consisted of two main sessions: a training on basic research and a workshop using SPSS as a research tool. The purpose of this event is to increase SCORE members’ knowledge of basic research and the urgency of having said knowledge.

CROWN started with a training on Research Biostatistics which was brought by Kak Gede Bagus Yoga, one of the alumni of SCORE CIMSA UI. The training mainly discussed about statistic analysis. Kak Yoga also gave examples of various cases with different data and variables for the participants to test their knowledge. They were very enthusiastic in this training, as it could be seen by the numerous questions asked throughout the training. It began with a pre-test and ended with a post-test; over 80% of the participants had an increase in their post-test scores. There was also an ice breaking session so that the members could take a break after such a heavy topic from the training.

The event proceeded with an SPSS workshop which was brought by Kak Imam Adli, also one of the alumni. The workshop focused on research questionnaires, because later in SGP Lv. 3, SCORE is going to do its own research. In this workshop, Kak Imam showed the participants on how to use SPSS to analyse every question in a questionnaire to check their validity and reliability. The workshop ended with a Q&A session and the participants were eager to convey their curiosities. At the end of the event, all of the participants had a documentation session.

The outcome of this event was an infographic which especially focused on the training – the infographic was shared through CIMSA UI’s social media and was made to give CIMSA UI members a summary of the main points of the training, because the contents of the training were considered quite relevant for the members as a student having to do their own academic research. Although this year’s SGP was held online, the members seemed excited and understood a bit more about research. Hopefully, SCORE members can take the benefit from both the training and the workshop, ultimately utilizing their knowledge to do the SGP Lv. 3 research successfully and be even more passionate about research.
