The knowledge and interest in research among medical students are still deficient even though this is closely related to the development of medical science as a doctor in the future. Moreover, the research climate in Indonesia itself is still immature and has many flaws compared to other countries. This situation is the reason that we need an activity to break down the obstacles that are obtained.
Research exchange is an activity organized by the Observer SCORE CIMSA Unsoed in the theme "SEE THE WORLD (Sharing Exchange Experience and Opportunities Around The World)" are carried out as a means to develop health research in Indonesia with a touch of innovation from developed countries. In addition, SEE THE WORLD aims to increase the basic knowledge and interests of medical students related to research exchange opportunities and increase the knowledge of Observer SCORE CIMSA Unsoed members regarding essential research exchange IFMSA exchange fair program.
SEE THE WORLD was held as an online webinar and BINGO special edition research exchange. SEE THE WORLD webinar held on April 10th, 2021, divided into two sessions.
The first session was about an essential research exchange brought by NORE CIMSA, Monika Herliana.
The second session was about exchange experience and tips & tricks Motivation Letter and Interview brought by Former Outgo Greece and Slovakia of Research Exchange, Margareta Evelyne and Rania Anindya. SEE THE WORLD online webinars were carried out on zoom meetings. Meanwhile, BINGO Special Edition Research Exchange was held through Instagram stories by filling in a few questions.
SEE THE WORLD received good responses from participants. Online webinar SEE THE WORLD held by the Observer SCORE CIMSA Unsoed was attended by 34 participants from CIMSA members and Medical Students of Jenderal Soedirman University. Participant's interest in the topic of research exchange made this activity interactive between speakers and participants. Even though it was held online, participants got the benefits and insights from this webinar. This was indicated by the increase of participant's knowledge on related topics as assessed by the increase of the pretest and posttest scores as much 55%. Not only that, BINGO Special Edition Research Exchange was distributed by seven members and was seen by over 800 viewers.
In order to realize the changing future of medical, scientific research, research exchanges exist as intermediaries to break down boundaries between medical students around the world.
