SCOPE BASIC TRAINING
SCOPE CIMSA UPH
Exchange is a process that provides opportunities for students to expand their network and interchange knowledge to increase collaboration and break down social barriers which enhances the student’s communication skills and gains experience.
Since established, SCOPE CIMSA UPH has been constantly carrying its function as a facilitator for medical students who desires to participate in professional exchange, in which, both incomings and outgoings gain an opportunity to do clinical clerkship.
The LEO-In and LEO-Out provides a platform for the SCOPE CIMSA UPH members to be involved directly in assisting the process of incoming and outgoing by forming a committee of Blue Patrols and SCOPE Smurfs which allows the SCOPE CIMSA UPH members to learn through real experience, in order for the members to have a better understanding regarding SCOPE Exchange Program as one of the focus areas of SCOPE.
Therefore, to mark the start of these newly recruited Blue Patrols and SCOPE Smurfs journey, SCOPE CIMSA UPH, held their first basic training in this tenure. This training aims to upgrade the knowledge of the SCOPE CIMSA UPH members about IFMSA, SCOPE, and SCOPE CIMSA as well as educate regarding experiential learning so that SCOPE CIMSA UPH members could perform their job in assisting the SCOPE exchange program.
The event that was held on November 14th, 2020 for approximately 2 hours, starting with a pre-test to measure the participants knowledge before being trained, then a seminar by the LEO-In, Salma Shafira Rachmaputri, was conducted with a title of PIIT (Pre-Incoming Arrival Training); where participants were taught about hosting incomings 101, starting from the pre-arrival required kit until evaluation form and testimony. Followed by a sharing and discussion session regarding the topic. The second topic that was brought by a National CIMSA’s certified exchange trainer, Salsabilla Ameranti Putri was: basic exchange including IFMSA and SCOPE CIMSA’s work domains. Afterwards, the participants went through the last topic about Early Exposure to Exchange (3E) brought by the LEO-Out, Jeskry Thiono. Lastly, participants underwent a post-test to see the impact of the training.
It is hoped that through this training, SCOPE CIMSA UPH members would understand clearly about IFMSA, SCOPE, and SCOPE CIMSA especially their domain of works. Furthermore, the main goal is to encourage members to involved actively as Blue Patrols and SCOPE Smurfs who helps the LEO-in and LEO-Out in assisting the exchange participants, both incomings and outgoings.
