SANITY
(Say Yes to Gender Equality, Say No to Toxic Masculinity and Toxic Femininity)

Gender equality is a fundamental human right that plays an important role to create a peaceful, prosperous, and safe world. According to the Gender Inequality Index (GII), Indonesia's gender inequality is the fourth highest in ASEAN. It shows that the number of gender inequality in Indonesia is still quite high. Based on this reason, SCORA CIMSA FK Unpad held SANITY.
SANITY (Say Yes to Gender Equality, Say No to Toxic Masculinity and Toxic Femininity) is a series of activities consisting of campaigns and talk shows. This event was held on July 19th-25th, 2021 and has the goal of increasing knowledge and awareness of the general public from teenagers to adults about mental health due to gender inequality, especially in cases of toxic masculinity and toxic femininity.
SANITY consists of several activities that are carried out online through the CIMSA FK Unpad social media account and the personal accounts of each participant. Before the event starts, open recruitment for volunteers will be held on July 15-18. Total volunteers who registered reached 260 participants. The first campaign was in the form of cases of toxic masculinity and femininity. Participants analyzed one of the three cases contained in the Instagram story of CIMSA FK Unpad according to their opinions. Their answer was then republished through the Instagram story of each participant's account.
On July 21st, each participant posted the SANITY infographic through their Instagram feeds. Furthermore, on July 22nd, 2021, participants of SANITY are posted a photo using the twibbon through their Instagram stories by including the hashtags #SANITY2021 and #ShoutOutForEquality. In addition, there are also “ruang bercerita” and question tags that allow SANITY participants to tell their personal experiences related to toxic masculinity and femininity and ask questions about things they want to know more about the topic, the selected questions will be answered during the talk show.
For the highlight of the event from SANITY, a Talk Show was held on July 24th, 2021 through Live IG CIMSA FK Unpad. The speaker in this activity is dr. Asti Widihastuti, a counselor from the Angsamerah clinic. We hope that the implementation of SANITY activities can motivate the community to play a role in increasing awareness about gender equality.
