REMEDY 3rd INTERVENTION
SCOPH CIMSA FK UNPAD
In the light of the upcoming World’s Diabetes Day, SCOPH CIMSA FK Unpad continued their annual sustainable project called REMEDY, focusing on education and self-awareness for people in Desa Cipacing, Jatinangor about preventing diabetes and living a healthy lifestyle, by first handing the knowledge to the cadres of RW 07 and RW 03. This year, the intervention is different due to the Covid-19 pandemic, causing all activities to be held on the virtual platform.
REMEDY is divided into three interventions. Now, we are going to talk about the third intervention. On this intervention, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session was held to discuss the learning materials given on the last intervention. Eleven cadres were divided into three small groups. Each group consists of two cadres from RW 07, two cadres from RW 03, and two facilitators from SCOPH CIMSA FK Unpad batch 2020.
First, we greeted the cadres on the big WhatsApp group named WDD CIMSA Kader Cipacing, consisting of all the cadres from RW 07 and RW 03 Desa Cipacing Jatinangor and the members of SCOPH CIMSA FK Unpad. We announced the division of discussion groups for the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session. Then, we moved to smaller WhatsApp groups consists of the division explained.
The discussion lasted for 6 hours. The facilitators started asking about a healthy diet. It was super exciting to see the cadres answered the guiding questions given by the facilitators. The facilitators also explained the right answers to the questions. What's interesting was to see the spirit of the cadres to learn more about diabetes. They asked questions if they did not understand the explanation given. The facilitators answered their questions happily so they can understand more about diabetes.
After the discussion ended, we returned to the big WhatsApp group, where we started earlier. Then, the committee announced the three most active cadres during the FGD session. The three cadres won each prize of phone credit worth Rp20.000,-. Before this intervention ended, we asked the testimonial of the cadres about the series of three interventions. We ended this intervention by saying goodbye to the cadres and hope to see them next time!
The COVID-19 pandemic is not a problem for us to have a good impact on others. We can still share and bond with each other. We hope that we can always share benefits until the end of our activity!
