SCOPH CIMSA Unsoed
On Saturday, October 16th 2021, Community Development (COMDEV) of SCOPH CIMSA Unsoed had succesfully held their first intervention to their target community. This COMDEV program is called REMAJA which stands for Raising Mental Health Awareness in Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah Junior High School Arcawinangun that focus on mental health.
REMAJA raises the topic of mental health, where in each intervention, the target community will be provided with material counseling on mental health progressively. The target community of REMAJA is 19 students of SMP Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah who have previously undergone a mental health test and met the criteria for counseling. Later, this community member is expected to become a peer educator as well as a facilitator about mental health for their peers.
The first intervention was carried out online through the zoom platform and lasted for approximately 2 hours. REMAJA invited Mrs. Woro, one of the UNSOED lecturers as a speaker.
The intervention began with the opening of the MC then continued with attendance and filling out the pre test, then documentation was carried out at the beginning of the event. then material on mental health in general is given for 40 minutes followed by a discussion session. After the material session was finished, it was continued by taking a break in the form of games. Then FGD was conducted where community members were divided into 3 groups and then asked to discuss solutions to the problems in the scenario.
In this intervention, community members were very enthusiastic and actively asked questions and expressed their opinions. Not infrequently positive feedback is given by community members to carry out further interventions.
