COVID-19 has limited everyone’s activity since the pandemic was exposed globally. In this case, medical students were also having a minimum opportunity to undergo activities such as student exchange programs. Mentioning a bit that one of the main SCOPE CIMSA’s insights is SCOPE Exchange Program. But even though there’s a hitch to make that main insight to happen, it doesn’t mean that it rules out the possibility of holding an event where medical students can still share their knowledge, culture, and interact with one another.

Therefore, SCOPE CIMSA UPH along with SCOPE CIMSA UI made a very interesting but yet exciteful event, called VIRTEX ( Virtual Exchange ) last year. And then, a year after VIRTEX: NERVE ( Networking and Exchanging of Medical Knowledge through Remote Virtual Exchange ) was held, VIRTEX made its comeback by bringing the title, VIRTEX 2.0 : REGALIA ( Raising Awareness To Extinguish Malaria Pandemic ). In this event, SCOPE CIMSA UPH and SCOPE CIMSA UI would like to reach out International Medical Students, referred to as the Incomings and also Indonesian Medical Students to participate in this virtual exchange.

VIRTEX 2.0 was set for 3 dates, which was on the 4th, 5th, and 11th February 2023 by an online platform where people could have a virtual meeting called, ZOOM. This series of events includes a very broad and beneficial activities for the participants such as, Upon Arrival Training, the Grand Lecture, Team Building, Team-Based Learning, Workshop, and fun games called Amazing Race. Not just it, but participants could also bond with each other and share their experience and also culture in the Cultural Night session.

On Saturday, 4th February 2023, the first day of REGALIA, participants was introduced to William Atmadji as the LEO-In of SCOPE CIMSA and Sabrina Aya Telaga as the LEO-In of SCOPE CIMSA UI, both as the trainers for Upon Arrival Training. In this session, participants will be given essential information about IFMSA and IFMSA Exchange Programs. CIMSA Indonesia and LC was also explained and shared through this session by the trainers. After the Upon Arrival Training, there was a Team Building session where each participants was divided into groups and entered their breakout room to introduce themselves.

By this session, participants had an enjoyable talk, where they taught each other’s language from their own countries. The Indonesian health system, online lectures, and also the daily life here in Indonesia was also introduced to the Incomings. After Team Building session, the Grand Lecture was led by Dr. dr. Theo Audi Yanto, Sp.PD, FINASIM from the department of Internal Medicine in Faculty of Medicine in University of Pelita Harapan as the lecturer with the topic about Malaria, and this topic was also their preparation for Team-Based Learning on the next day.

The second day of REGALIA, participants will enter their breakout room, and they will be discussing 3 cases about health issues, specifically, malaria. Each breakout room will be guided by CIMSA UPH’s alumnus, dr. Rashmeeta and dr. Avilia Alexandra as the tutors. By the end of the discussion, all of the participants will be having a Plenary or Clarification session of the cases that were discussed from the Team-Based Learning session, the Plenary was led by dr. Rashmeeta. Then, participants also had a very fun and exciting game that they played together, which is the Amazing Race.

On the 11th February, which was the last day of REGALIA, there’ll be a practical activity where participants brought their Injection Kit or items that they will be using on the Injection Workshop session by CIMSA UI’s alumnus, Berly Shandika and Patricia Rosalind, both a Bachelor of Medicine. To end the series activities of VIRTEX 2.0 REGALIA, the committees prepared 5 breakout rooms for the Cultural Night session.
