REAGEN
(SCORE Activities to Greet Newbies)
SCORE CIMSA UNAIR
During this pandemic, many social activities that we used to do eventually had to be done virtually, including all CIMSA activities. This is quite impactful, especially now that CIMSA UNAIR is accepting new members. That's why REAGEN, stand for SCORE Activities to Greet Newbies, was held. Even though we could not greet newbies in person for our very first event, which is more exciting, we have brainstormed every detail of the concept for this online event to make our activity more meaningful for both Newbies and Members of SCORE CIMSA UNAIR.
This event aims to increase the knowledge of Newbies and SCORE CIMSA UNAIR Members regarding SCORE, IFMSA, SCORE Exchange, and the health system during the pandemic in several countries, namely Indonesia, India, and Portugal. Besides that, by bringing in ex-incoming as speakers, we could maintain good relations with them and train Members and Newbies to get used to communicating in English.
REAGEN was held on November 21st, 2020, via an online conference. It started from 13.00 until 16.15 WIB. There are mainly two sessions at this event. First, we had Basic Training: SCORE Exchange that was given by Kevin Alvaro Handoko. In this session, Newbies are introduced to the basic knowledge about SCORE, IFMSA, and its exchange program. Newbies were actively participating by asking questions and giving responses to every question asked by the trainer. After this session, we had a "Meet the Incomings Session" led by Kevin Alvaro as the moderator. The topic discussed was about the health system during the pandemic in some countries, including the condition, effects on daily activities, government policy, and citizen reaction. First, we had dr. Clarissa Azalia was the speaker in Indonesia's session. Next, we had Sofia from Portugal.
Last but not least, we had Siddhi from India. Participants actively asked questions related to the topic presented by each speaker. After this session ended, we chose 2 Newbies who had participated in giving some brief conclusions and insights they got, especially about the health system and SCORE itself.
We are hoping that holding this event could impact participants, especially the Newbies, on understanding the health system during pandemic around the countries and increasing the level of both confidence in English and their critical thinking.
