PROGESTERONE
(Program to talk about puberty and know the changes)
SCORA CIMSA FK UNS
Puberty is a phase experienced in every human before becoming an adult transition phase marked by various changes from biological-physical to psychology state. The kid must experience this phase before they become adults.
Teenagers who experienced puberty should be guided by an adult who takes care of them, like their parents, school, or society, to get through their puberty phase well. However, in real life, parents often avoid discussing reproduction health and puberty changes with their children because of a wrong mindset that these topics are not appropriate topics to discuss with their children. As a result, many teens searched about puberty and reproduction through a vulnerable source such as friends, printed media, and pornography.
Furthermore, according to SCORA CIMSA FK UNS surveys to 106 people, 19.81% of them have a piece of common knowledge about puberty. SCORA CIMSA UNS also surveyed 10 children with HIV/AIDS in the age range of 9-15 years old, consisting of 2 boys and 8 girls in Rumah Lentera. This assessment shows that 100% of the children with HIV/AIDS have relatively meager knowledge about puberty, with an average score of 27.5%. According to the data shown above, it is still necessary to educate society, specifically children with HIV/AIDS in Rumah Lentera, about reproduction and sexual health during puberty.
Progesterone started its activity by conducting training to the SCORA CIMSA FK UNS members to increase their knowledge about puberty and prepare the member to do interventions by doing an air campaign and becoming peer educators to the children with HIV/AIDS in Rumah Lentera. This training is followed by an air campaign with a puberty-related theme and material done by the SCORA CIMSA FK UNS member who has joined the previous training. The last intervention is an education to the Rumah Lentera by a peer educator from members of CIMSA FK UNS who is previously joined the training.
In the end, an everything health problem can be solved through education by preventing something before it happens to anybody or anybody else. Moreover, progesterone has that point. We hope our will and effort can make an impact on society and ourselves.
