(The Important of Mental Health During COVID-19 Pandemic)

COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS CoV-2 (Severe acute Respiratory Corona Virus-2) which originated in Wuhan, China and was detected in December 2019. It was confirmed that it spread to Indonesia on March 2, 2020, after a dance instructor and her mother tested positive for the virus. According to COVID-19 cases in Indonesia on August 29, 2020, recorded 169.195 total cases, 122.802 recoveries and 7.261 deaths and the virus has spread to all over the country.
The COVID-19 pandemic has likely brought many changes in our life, and with it’s uncertainty, altered daily routines, financial pressure and social isolation. This outbreak may be stressful for many people. Fear and anxiety about a new disease and what could happen can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions. The findings, published in PDSKJI website, 64,3% of 1.522 respondents have anxiety or depression during COVID-19 Pandemic, 80% respondent have psycologist trauma.
In this situation, Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) CIMSA UNRI organized activities, named POMERIC (The Important of Mental Health During COVID-19 Pandemic) . This activities took place on October 3rd – 5th, 2020. It aims to increase public awareness about the impact of the current pandemic on mental health and educate people about how to take care of their mental health.
On the first day of POMERIC which fell on October 3rd, 2020. We hosted a webinar on Zoom. In this webinar, presented by a psychiatrist, attendees was educated about the important of maintaining mental health during this pandemic and how to maintain it by coping techniques.

And also on this day we held quiz on CIMSA UNRI’s Instagram story (@cimsaunri) which aims to test public knowladge about mental health during COVID-19 pandemic. And on the second day, October 4th, 2020, we shared informations about mental health during this pandemic, with the title ‘What Can We Do?’, these were informations for all conditions and all ages and then we posted it on CIMSA UNRI’s Instagram feed. Meanwhile, for the last day on October 5th, 2020, we posted answers and explanations of the quiz from the first day which was conducted on CIMSA UNRI’s instagram story.
