PET
(Pre Exchange Training)
SCORE CIMSA-BEM KM FK UNAND
PET or Pre-Exchange Training is a SCORE Unand project, which is part of the Research Exchange program where outgoing candidates will be given material about SCORE and Research, providing provisions for outgoing candidates during their exchange.
In SCORE Active NMOs, research exchanges cannot achieve their final goals due to a lack of student motivation, knowledge, and awareness. Therefore, PET SCORE plays a significant role in this "dependency" as one of the most excellent IFMSA exchange activities on both a personal and professional level. The knowledge gained from PET SCORE will support the outgoing candidates about Research Exchange to be more aware of what medical research is and what ethical errors to avoid while stimulating the critical thinking of these medical students and, hopefully, their motivation before and during their implementation of the Research Exchange remains strong.
While the IFMSA Research Exchange Program provides medical students worldwide with an invaluable opportunity to deepen and assess their research-based knowledge on specific medical topics through their access to foreign clinical or science-based research projects, SCORE PET actively supports their motivation with knowledge and necessary academic. Indeed, students' motivation is a significant issue in getting them involved and maintaining their interest in their research.
On Saturday, 19 December 2020, via Zoom Cloud Meetings, SCORE-CIMSA BEM KM FK UNAND held a Pre-Exchange Training. There was training about "Pre-Exchange Training and IFMSA Account Usage" by Nur Indah Gusnari as LORE CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand and "Academic Performance" by M. The activity's implementation is exemplary because outgoing candidates' knowledge has been increasing from 56.7 in the pre-test to 95.7 in the post-test. Hopefully, the outgoing candidates can prepare themselves for all the needed things before they occur so that during the exchange, they can minimize unwanted events.
