CHEERIO which stands for Exchange Preparation with SCOPE, is a Pre-Departure Training with the theme Hospital Departments: Look Into The Future that held by SCOPE CIMSA FK Unpad to prepare outgoings students from Padjadjaran University that have been accepted to IFMSA Professional Exchange Season 2020/2021. IFMSA Professional Exchange Program is an exchange where outgoings will experience a Clinical clerkship in one department in the destination country’s hospital. The exchange preparation that previously named PDT-Grande (Pre-Departure Training: Getting Ready and Exchange) is part of annual program that SCOPE CIMSA FK Unpad held to fulfill one of the conditions that is needed by outgoings before doing the exchange. This year’s exchange preparation is held via online platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic that is still happening in Indonesia. CHEERIO is held via Zoom, on November 28th 2020 from 10.00-13.30 WIB.
CHEERIO consisted of three main sessions. The first session was a presentation by Salsabila Ameranti Putri as LEO from SCOPE CIMSA FK Unpad & CIMSA-Certified Exchange Trainer about exchange, exchange documents and exchange conditions that is needed to be prepared by outgoing before departure. Also, especially explanation about IFMSA Database. At the end of the session, the participants were given the opportunity to ask the speaker about stuffs related to the exchange so that they could get a clear picture about it.
The second session was talk show about departments in hospital and how to properly choose the department in the exchange program. To accomplish this aim, CHEERIO invite the speaker from RSUP Hasan Sadikin Bandung, Dr. dr. Ruswana Anwar, Sp.OG-KFER,M.Kes as Chairman of the Education Coordination Committee Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung. In the talk show he also shared about his fellowship experiences in several country and how to maximize impact of this exchange opportunity.
The last session in CHEERIO is presentation about global health, social determinants of health, and exchange roles in those things by Hotman David Nababan as IFMSA-Certified Public Health Leader. We hope that this activity is able to prepare the knowledge and skills in various matters, such as global health issue, bioethics, dan intercultural learning that will be beneficial for outgoings.
