(No More Discrimination, Fight Against Ableism)

To celebrate Human Rights Day on 10th December, SCORP CIMSA UKDW was held Nordic Film – No More Discrimination, Fight Against Ableism. Nordic Film – No More Discrimination, Fight Against Ableism is one of SCORP Projects. This project was held on Thursday, Saturday, Tuesday, 10th, 12th, and 15th of December 2020. Common public knowledge and awareness of ableism that can occur in the surrounding environment. Ableism often occurs without awareness from the public. Without realizing it, we have discriminated against friends with disabilities. Common knowledge of disabilities can also lead to an increase in discrimination among friends with disabilities. So that friend with disabilities is considered worse off. Therefore, it is necessary to hold activities aimed at explaining ableism and disability so that discrimination cases to friends with disabilities can be reduced.
Nordic Film – No More Discrimination, Fight Against Ableism has some goals are to increasing the public's understanding of ABLEISM, increase awareness of discrimination against friends with disabilities, and increase the sense of public care for friends with disabilities, especially in daily activities or in using public facilities together.
On Thursday, 10th December 2020, we conducted an air campaign about ABLEISM via Instagram. We prepared three quizzes. In the first quiz, 179 people saw the quiz, and 67 people chose the correct answer. In the second quiz, 167 people saw the quiz, and 58 people chose the correct answer. In the third quiz, 159 people saw the quiz, and 48 people chose the correct answer.
On Saturday, 12th December 2020, we recorded with two speakers, namely Mrs. F. Krismartanti from Hellen Keller Yogyakarta and Mrs. Maria Sri Suhartini from the Sedayu Disability Community "Pinilih." After recording, we processed the material for podcasts on the Spotify platform, and we published it on Tuesday, 15th December 2020. Moreover, finally, we distributed the poster along with the posttest link to the general public.
The results we got were proven to increase the participants' insight after listening to the speakers educating about ABLEISM and disabilities. That is enough to make us happy and satisfied because we can run our project, which was carried out online.
