(Minimizing your Food Waste)

MINDS is a campaign organized by DORP MSCIA UB on Earth Day commemoration, aiming to increase awareness and knowledge of FKUB students and the general public about the dangers of food waste. Food waste is food that is fit for human consumption, but for some reason, the food is not consumed so that it is damaged and disposed of as waste by retailers or consumers (FAO, 2013). Food waste is also an issue in food and the environment on food prints. Indonesia is in the second position as a contributor to food waste or the highest food waste in the world, according to data from the Economist Intelligence Unit in 2016 (Asnida Rini, 2020).
The series of MINDS air campaigns began with uploading twibbons on Instagram Story on April 22, followed by UPGRADING SCORP 1.0 on Saturday, April 24, 2021, which new members of the Department attended of Human Rights and Peace (DORP) to increase their understanding regarding food prints. Hanik Latifatul Mahmudah did this training with the material Carbon Footprint of Food (Food Print), which is an additional SCORP module this year, and in order to increase the knowledge of new members as early as possible, training on SCORP 101 was also provided by Nabila Kartika Yumna as LORP.
Then in the next day, MINDS proceeded with educational Instagram Stories on April 25, 2021, which was uploaded using the member's personal Instagram account, and closed the campaign with an infographic from Teens Go Green Indonesia regarding food waste in April 30, 2021.
During the events, MINDS managed to collect more than 100 likes per feed, with 448 likes for the infographic. All new DORP members uploaded twibbon, and the educational Instagram Stories in the form of 'myth-or-fact' as well as 'this-or-that' and 30 other MSCIA members joined in to enliven the Earth Day celebration with Instagram Story viewers above 100 on each account. Then on UPGRADING SCORP 1.0, as many as 20 participants attended, an average post-test score above or equal to 70 was successfully achieved. On the SCORP 101 material, the average post-test score was 71.05, and for the additional earth day module, the average post-test score was 86.67. In addition, 14 members participated in the merch endorsement competition.
