At this time, bioethical and legal regulations have been listed in the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) quality standards published by the International Conference on the Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) as well as the integration of local ethical examiner bodies. However, the fact is that countries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, are still very lacking in implementation. The realization of the application of bioethics in daily activities has also not gone well, even though bioethics has been included in the competency-based curriculum. (Center for Indonesian Medical Students' Activities, 2019).
There are 4 main moral principles in bioethics to reach ethical decisions, namely autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice (Prabowo and Widjaja, 2021). Thus, starting from some of the problems above, SCOPE CIMSA UNAIR held MICROBIO which is an activity to provide education related to bioethics so that it can increase knowledge and understanding, shape attitudes, and improve abilities in implementing bioethical principles in various ethical dilemmas that will be encountered in the field.
MICROBIO is carried out with several series of events, starting with the pre-event. The series of pre-event activities started with upgrading with the topic "Bioethical Issues in Healthcare Practice in Indonesia" together with the National Exchange Officer for Incoming 2022/2023, Kak Salsabila. Then we also created an IG Story "True or False" containing several topics related to bioethics, infographics about "Bioethics in General" and the last is Live Instagram with the topic "The Importance of Bioethics in The Medical Profession and Research" with dr. Danang H. Limanto., Sp.BTKV., K-(VE). In the entire series of pre-event activities, we managed to attract more than 300 audiences.
The event continued with the main event, namely Online Talkshow. This time, SCOPE CIMSA UNAIR collaborates with “Dokter Unair TV” in the series “Dokter Edukasi”. The resource persons we engaged for this talk show were Dr. Afif Nurul Hidayati, dr. Sp. KK, FINS-DV. He is a Member of the Health Research Ethics Committee (KEPK) FK UNAIR & RSUA.
Finally, MICROBIO closed with a Post activity in the form of an educational video with the topic “How to become a doctor with a strong bioethical foundation” which will be uploaded to @cimsaunair Instagram Feeds.
