(Understanding and supporting antenatal depression during pandemic)

SCORA CIMSA UNSOED

The World Health Organization (WHO, 2020) reports that around 10% of pregnant women experience depression. Pandemic Covid19 enhances pregnant womens' anxiety, especially with regard to their baby's health. The anxiety will result in complications for the mother and baby. Therefore, in order to prevent antenatal depression, pregnant womens must get proper antenatal care and good social support.

MATIC is an activity organized by SCORA CIMSA Unsoed with the theme "Understanding and Supporting Antenatal Depression During Pandemic" in commemoration of world maternal mental health’s day 2021. The MATIC aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of SCORA CIMSA Unsoed members regarding antenatal depression and also to campaign antenatal care.

One of the MATIC activities was online LPET as well as a social media campaign. LPET was held on June 22, 2021 with a resource from PETRA, Arifah Pelangi Nusa. Online LPET conducted at zoom meetings.

Meanwhile, the social media campaign was carried out through Instagram Live in CIMSA Unsoed account’s in collaboration with MotherHope Indonesia with resource dr. Lahargo Kembaren, Sp. KJ.

After carrying out the activities of the SCORA CIMSA Unsoed, members held a ground campaign by educating others using posters.

LPET organized by SCORA CIMSA Unsoed were attended by SCORACIMSA Unsoedmembers. The involvement of members with the topic of antenatal depression during pandemic made this activity interactive between the speaker and the participants. Even though it was held online, the participants still got the benefits and insight from this training. This is indicated by the increase in participants' knowledge of related topics as assessed by the increase in the pretest and posttest scores.

The activity to commemorate World Maternal Mental Health Day is a form of the seriousness of CIMSA Unsoed, especially SCORA in understanding and supporting  antenatal depression. In addition, this activity is a step towards making people educated and more understanding of antenatal depression. By doing this activity, one of it was LPET, we have increased the knowledge and awareness of our members by 16%, according to the increasing result of the posttest compared to their pretest. Beside that, we have helped increase the awareness of our society by doing live Instagram as our social media campaign and also doing ground campaigns.
