Every year on 10th October, World Mental Health Day is celebrated. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the risk of mental health problems such as depression and insecurities become higher. Working and learning from home could be a stressor to some people. According to several surveys, the highest depression rate is in young adulthood. 

To celebrate World Mental Health Day, this year SCOPH CIMSA FK UIN created a community development called LESI (Let’s Erase Sadness and Insecurities). This community development is created to raise awareness about stress and how to cope with it.

One of the first intervention is webinar session, this was held on 10th October 2021 which consist of webinar. This webinar is in collaboration with KESSOS DEMA FK UIN SH. Before the main event, the primary assessment was distributed to FK UIN SH pre-clinical students in the form of SRQ Test. The purpose of this test is to detect students that are indicated with mental health issues and give them the informed consent to be part of the target community.

This open public webinar was held using Zoom Meeting as an online platform. The event started at 12.45 p.m. For this webinar, there are 2 speakers with different topics. The first one is from Tyson Anderson, CHA., C.Ht., M.Psi., as a representative from Himpunan Psikologi Indonesia (HIMPSI) with the topic “Stress Management and Coping Stress” that is relevant for the participants who lives under a pandemic. The second topic is a talk show about the benefits of sharing and exchanging ideas from Afifah Fitriyani, a representative from Self Love Warriors. The participants were enthusiastic about these 2 topics and asked many questions during the Q&A session. We also held game session and the participants were very active and excited. The event closed around 16.00 p.m with a group photo. 

This intervention has gotten positive feedback from the participants. We sincerely hope LESI could increase people’s knowledge and awareness about mental health. In addition, we also hope this community development could help the target lower their depression level.
