SCORP CIMSA Unsoed
Today’s topic of refugees still being a special interest for many people, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. This condition leaves refugees with considerable challenges because of the growing psychosocial and mental health risks. Refugees face many health problems because the accommodation provided by the government is inadequate with the number and distribution of refugees right now. This situation makes the rights to health for refugees is more threatened.
IDoP (International Day of Peace) activity is an activity organized by SCORP CIMSA Unsoed with the theme “The Rights to Health for Refugees” in commemoration of International Day of Peace. This activity aims to increase public knowledge and awareness about refugees’ rights to health and adding perspective about refugees during this pandemic situation. Also, increase the organizing committee’s knowledge about refuges’ rights to health.
IDoP activities were held as online training, ground campaign, and social media campaign. The online training of IDoP was held on September 24th, 2021 with our trainer from CIMSA Unsoed as Human Rights Education Facilitator, Lingua Retno Gumilang. IDoP online training was carried out on zoom meetings. The online training was followed by public volunteers and SCORP CIMSA Unsoed members. The training discussed the rights to health for refugees, and there’s also a focus group discussion session Ground campaign held on September 25th -28th 2021 by all volunteers and SCORP CIMSA Unsoed members that joined the online training. Each of them is targeted to do the campaign for three people. Meanwhile, a social media campaign was held on October 1st, 2021 through the snap quiz in CIMSA Unsoed Instagram, @cimsaunsoed.
IDoP training online activity is attended by 21 participants. Participants who joined the online training were excited and can speak their opinion freely when the trainer explained about the presentation and Focus Group Discussion. Even though it was held online, participants got the benefits and insight from this webinar. This was indicated by the increase of the pretest and posttest scores by 37%. Ground campaign hits the target of 23 people. The social media campaign was highly seen by 93 viewers.
This IDoP activity is performed as a commemoration of International Day of Peace, and also as a form of CIMSA Unsoed seriousness, especially the SCORP CIMSA Unsoed member’s attention to the vulnerable people, that is refugees. In addition, this activity is a real effort to expand and increasing the public also SCORP CIMSA Unsoed member’s knowledge and awareness of rights to health issues.
