Hello, CIMSA !

Racism is a distinction in actions and behaviors that cause inequality towards a person or a group because of differences in skin color, race, and ethnicity. The ability to oppress, discriminate, or restrict the rights and liberties of others is also a component of racism. Racism was also the cause of many horrific events in world history. One of the most shocking cases of racism in the world is the massacre of the Jews by the Nazis.

In commemorating the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2022, SCORP CIMSA UPH held an event with the tagline "WAH: We Are Human." This event aims to inform the public about racism and its threats to racial harmony and national security.

This year, SCORP CIMSA UPH chose a video air campaign for the IDOP event and distributed it via Instagram reels and TikTok. On Instagram reels, we talk about racism in general, examples of racism in Indonesia, statistics about racism, and a call to action for people to against racism. In Tiktok, we talk about the murder of George Floyd, a black man who passed away following a harsh arrest by the police, and how upset the public is over the incident.

It is sad to know the fact that there are so many cases of racism that not only restricts one's rights and freedoms but also persecutes and kills others. The impact of this racism is dangerous and can divide the unity. The differences that exist in society should be able to increase the tolerance of each group. People must respect these differences that characterize a person or group and need to realize that diversity in a community is unique. Therefore, SCORP CIMSA UPH chose to conduct an air campaign as a form to commemorate IDOP so that the information we spread can reach the wider community.

Through this event, we hope we can stop this racism, and more people can fight back against the power of discrimination. Remember that everyone deserves equal justice and freedom!
