This year, on 3rd - 13th December 2020, Human Right and Peace Committee (RPCO) MMSA UMY commemorated Human Rights Day in the theme "Raising Human Rights Awareness and Health Equality during the COVID-19 Pandemic". The aim of this program is to raise awareness of the importance of human rights, regardless of racial background, physical limitations, or certain conditions that caused human rights to be often neglected, such as for medical personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic. In Indonesia, the rate of discrimination against disabilities and race is quite high. Various cases of discrimination aimed at health workers also occur due to lack of knowledge. The target of this webinar is all people who have concerns in the field of human rights and justice.
This series started with the uploaded a video campaign on December 3, 2020 and at the same time we also commemorated the International Day of Disabled Persons. On December 10, RPCO uploaded a twibbon on instagram story by posting quotes related to support for human rights.
The last series was closed by holding a webinar which was held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 through Zoom. We invite experts from Kantor Wilaya Kementerian Hukum dan HAM Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, Mr. Purwanto, S. H., M. H. who presented about discrimination against disabilities and race during COVID-19 pandemic and also alumnus of RPCO MMSA UMY, dr. Prastika Candra Triastuti who presented about medical fields condition during pandemic. This webinar was hosted by Human Rights Trainer, Larasati Kusnanto, and attended by various ages, from 17 to 56 years old. The campaign video on Instagram TV was watched over 364 times and the webinar was attended by a total of 60 people from participants, committees, and officials. For the completeness and validity of the data, we conduct pre-activity and post-activity assessments via google form. We also provided an e-certificate for each participant who has attended the webinar and we hope that this event will increase people's awareness on human rights on COVID-19 pandemic.
