(How to Stop Tuberculosis : Knowing Tuberculosis Better)

Tuberculosis is a disease that attacks the human lung organs and causes by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which is easily spread by coughing, sneezing or saliva from an infected person. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by a decreased immune system. Tuberculosis is one of the top 10 causes of death and the leading cause of an infectious agent. In Indonesia, cases of tuberculosis disease were 420,994 recorded in 2017. There is a stigma associated with Tuberculosis as this disease is generally viewed as a disease to be avoided. So that the cause of the many stigmas that arise on someone exposed to Tuberculosis.

HOTS TB (How to Stop Tuberculosis) is an activity held by SCOPH CIMSA Unsoed to commemorate World Tuberculosis Day 2021. So, HOTS TB aims to increase public awareness about Tuberculosis and reduce stigma in society by increasing public knowledge. It is also intended to increase the members' knowledge of SCOPH CIMSA Unsoed and sounding information about tuberculosis disease through IGTV and Spotify.

On Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, we held training about Tuberculosis to all members of SCOPH CIMSA Unsoed by PHL CIMSA Unsoed. Then, we held a webinar on Saturday, April 10th, 2021, with Mr. Alvi Juan as a speaker from KNCV Indonesia.

The objectives of this webinar are students in senior high school because they can be peer educators about tuberculosis disease in their environment. After the webinar is complete, we also hold challenges to prevent tuberculosis disease by going a healthy food and exercise applied to webinar participants.

Other than that, we also held a podcast on Spotify in knowing Tuberculosis better with dr. Indah Rahmawati, Sp.P., FISR as our speaker, on Sunday, 11th April 2021. Moreover, we are sharing information about Tuberculosis on IGTV with Mr. Aldo as a Survivor TB (PETA) on Sunday, April 11th, 2021. 

After these activities, of course, there are many benefits we can take. For example, starting from the participant's webinar who can be peer educators and member SCOPH CIMSA Unsoed can learn about Tuberculosis.
