SCORP CIMSA USU

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22 to raise awareness of environmental protection and appreciation of the Earth we live on today. This year, SCORP-CIMSA raised the theme "Foodprint" and "Sustainable Green Movement" as a measure to tackle climate change and save the Earth.
This year, SCORP-CIMSA USU planned a series of events to celebrate Earth Day 2021 under the theme of "Foodprint" to educate the participants on the impact of climate change caused by greenhouse gases from the carbon footprint. In addition, it raises public awareness of the importance of caring for the environment and appreciation of the Earth as our home.
Before the HOME (Heal Our Mother Earth) activities, the organizing committee (OC) was given training courses under the themes of "Environmental Preservation" by CIMSA USU's Human Rights Trainer, Patrick Limbardon, and "Foodprint" by CIMSA USU's Human Rights Education Facilitator, Azzahra Wiana Kartika Siregar. The training courses were given to prepare the OC in educating participants of HOME.

The series of HOME activities began with the 5-day challenge named CHEESE (Challenges to Save the Earth), which was a series of challenges followed by volunteers for five consecutive days. Volunteers were educated on environmental conservation, plastic waste disposal, air pollution, carbon footprints of food, and other Earth-saving efforts. Training under the theme of "Foodprint" with the National Officer on Human Rights and Peace, Syaogi Ahmed Azizy, was also given to the volunteers.
CHEESE was followed by the Air Campaign with the release of a podcast themed "Environmental Preservation and Foodprint"; an educational video in collaboration with Surplus Community; and another educational video made in collaboration with Zero Waste Indonesia.

The finale of the HOME activities was a hybrid outreach to the Putri Aisyiyah Orphanage. A series of events and a training course under the theme of "Environmental Preservation" with CIMSA USU Human Rights Trainer Ruth Theresia Sibarani took place, followed by a quiz and ended with a donation.
We carefully arranged this event to raise public awareness of the importance of caring for our environment so that the Earth can be a better place for future generations.
