FEVER 5.0
CIMSA UNAIR
The COVID-19 pandemic is a new reality that almost everyone in the world experiences. The COVID-19 pandemic affects almost every aspect of our life, from our personal affairs to public activities in society. As per the data published by Komite Penanganan COVID-19 dan Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional, up until April 4th 2021, there are 1,589,359 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia.
COVID-19 itself is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The common symptoms are fever, dry cough, and respiratory distress. The disease can also be lethal. In Indonesia, there are 43,073 cases of COVID-19 that ended with death.
CIMSA UNAIR sees the urgency to educate society about topics related to this COVID-19 issue. Therefore FEVER was established. FEVER (Flattening the Curve through Online Conversations) is a bimonthly webinar specifically talking about issues around the topic of COVID-19. FEVER always involves CIMSA UNAIR alumni, like speakers or moderators, in its webinars.
Specifically, FEVER 5.0 talked about "Understanding Arrhythmia in COVID-19 Patients". The main objectives of FEVER 5.0 were to inform the audiences about COVID-19 complications, explain cases of arrhythmia occurring in COVID-19 patients, and raise the audiences' awareness about the dangers of COVID-19 (especially arrhythmia-related) and the importance of obeying the health protocols.
FEVER 5.0 was held through a Zoom meeting and was attended by 62 participants. In this webinar, dr. Revi Adheriyani, Sp.JP, FIHA, a board-certified cardiologist, CIMSA UNAIR's ex Local Exchange Officer, and CIMSA Indonesia's ex-National Exchange Officer shared her knowledge and insights about arrhythmia cases in COVID-19 patients with the audiences. This event is also proven impactful to the audiences, with an average post-test score of 77.6%.
In conclusion, we sincerely hope that events like FEVER, which concern COVID-19, can all take part in bringing the pandemic to an end.
