FEVER 4.0: DIURETIC
(Diving Through Travel Policy and Traveler's Health During Pandemic)
SCOPE CIMSA UNAIR
As of January 1, 2021, the Indonesian Government has announced 751,270 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 22,329 confirmed deaths from the virus. With the increase in cases every day, one of the significantly affected activities that cannot be carried out is typically traveling. Traveling, especially international traveling can increase the risk to personal health and well-being. Therefore, travelers must always be aware of their health conditions before, during, and after the trip by considering the health protocols in each country, especially during the current pandemic era.
Apart from being aware of the importance of a traveler's health, one must also consider their safety when traveling, especially when traveling to foreign countries. It makes knowledge of safety protocols and protection measures provided by the Government, including the Government of Indonesia, in protecting Indonesian citizens abroad very much needed, especially during this pandemic.
With the urgency of knowing the importance of traveler's health and government protective action protocols for Indonesian citizens abroad, CIMSA Universitas Airlangga held an event by inviting resource persons who are experts in their respective fields to explain travel medicine and the importance of maintaining health while traveling. The Government of Indonesia has made other efforts to protect Indonesian citizens abroad, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This one-day event was held on January 16, 2021, and lasted approximately two and a half hours. This event was opened publicly so that many participants came from organizations or institutions outside CIMSA. The event was opened with remarks from the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Airlangga University, and continued with each event's session. The webinar consists of 2 sessions accompanied by a moderator.
The first webinar raised Travel Medicine's topic by Dr. Dominicus Husada, dr., DTM & H., MCTM (TP)., Sp.A (K) and the second webinar on Travel Policy During Pandemic by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
The event was closed with a sharing session with two representatives of the Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) from Maastricht, guided by a different moderator from the previous session. Each event, both webinars and sharing sessions, was given a question and answered session with the participants. Moreover, as a token of appreciation, each speaker and moderator was given a certificate.
The event's impact was seen on the result from the post-test that was done by the participants and from the evaluation form.
After this event, it is hoped that the participants will have better knowledge and understanding of Travel Medicine and Travel Policy, especially during a pandemic.
