October is celebrated as a month of global breast cancer awareness (World Breast Cancer Awareness Month). Breast Cancer is one of the highest prevalence of Non-Communicable Disease and causes of death in women. In order to support the month of breast cancer, SCORA CIMSA FK UIN SH together with Lovepink organized the DISCOVER event. DISCOVER has a goal to increase public knowledge and awareness especially women of productive age related to breast cancer and cervical cancer.

DISCOVER events consist of seminars, breast ultrasound, IVA test with community targets especially women of productive age around KPKM Reni Jaya UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and ground campaign in car free day Bundaran HI. Seminars were delivered by Dr. Nina Afiani SPOG,  from MRCU FK UIN Jakarta, Mrs. Fransisca Yani and Mrs. Astri Prameswari from Lovepink.

The ground campaign which is part of the DISCOVER event series was held on Saturday, October 8, 2023. In this activity we carry out education to people who are on the move at the Bundaran HI car free day event. Education using posters containing material related to cervical cancer and several quizzes related to cervical cancer.

Participants in the breast ultrasound and IVA test were very enthusiastic to take part in this activity. At the seminar participants were very active in asking resource persons, plus a series of doorprize events that caught their attention. In addition to obtaining breast ultrasound examinations and IVA tests, participants are allowed to do consultation with the doctors regarding the results of the examiner. The activity closed by giving the consumption to participants and taking photos with the committee of KPKM Reni Jaya UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

A very fun and unforgettable activity. Positive feedback and enthusiasm from participants made us feel successful in organizing this useful event and making DISCOVER worthy of being held again next year by presenting even more extraordinary concepts.
