CHEESE 4th INTERVENTION

SCOPE CIMSA UIN SH

In this globalization era, English skills are one of the most important skills that everybody should have. With English we can explore more information and knowledge, we can also interact with a wide variety of people worldwide. As future doctors, we should prepare to meet a patient from abroad one day, which means we should use international language to communicate with the patient. Therefore, understanding English is one of our necessities as medical students.

In order to increase the knowledge and interest of Indonesian Medical Student speaking in English, especially students of FK UIN SH, SCOPE CIMSA FK UIN SH held a program to provide this thing, CHEESE (Cheers with English). CHEESE already did three interventions discussing history taking. In this 4th intervention, which is the last intervention, we have learned about Personal and Social History.

This 4th intervention was held on March 12th, 2021, via Zoom Cloud Meeting at 16.00-18.00 WIB GMT+7. This intervention was attended by FK UIN SH students batch 2020 as the participants. The activity began with an opening speech by Local Exchange Officer (LEO) SCOPE, and then the participants will be given a pre-test and fill it for 30 minutes.

After that, the participants will be given a material presentation about personal and social history taking by dr. Bisatyo Mardjikoen, Sp. OT as the speaker. The presentation took 30 minutes.

The personal and social history was presented with a mnemonic “TIA SHOE” that stands for Tobacco, Travel History, Illicit drugs, Alcohol, Sexual habits, Spirituality, Homelife, Hobbies, Occupation, Eating, Exercises, Exposure.

After that, the participants were given by the host time to ask some questions to the speaker. And then, we were continued to role-play sessions. The participants joined their breakout rooms with the cadres who acted as patients and the participants as a doctor. In this final intervention, the role play was slightly different and longer because we practiced the complete history taking from the history of present illness until the personal and social history.

Finally, the last event is awarding for the best care given to Angga Yoga Pratama and the best participant given to Asy’ari Muhammad Fahmi. Last, this intervention was closed by post-test and photo session as usual.
