CHEESE 2nd INTERVENTION
(Cheers With English)
SCOPE CIMSA UIN SH
English is an international language. With English, we can gain much broader information and knowledge. Not stopping from that, we can also interact with a wide variety of people around the world. Besides, as a medical student, understanding English is one of our necessities.
To increase the interest and knowledge of Indonesian students in English, especially students of FK UIN SH, SCOPE CIMSA FK UIN SH held a program to provide that need. SCOPE CIMSA FK UIN SH initiated CHEESE (Cheers with English) and already did two interventions about history taking. In this 2nd intervention, we have learned about Past Medical History.
This 2nd intervention was held on February 26th, 2021, via Zoom Cloud Meeting at 16.00 - 18.00 WIB GMT+7. This intervention was also attended by FK UIN SH students batch 2020. The activity began with an opening speech by Local Exchange Officer (LEO) SCOPE, and then the participants will be given a pre-test link and fill the pre-test for 10 minutes. After that, the participants will be given a material presentation about past medical history by the speaker—dr. Bisatyo Mardjikoen, Sp.OT—for 30 minutes. The past medical history was presented with a mnemonic. The mnemonic is SASHIMI GOM, which stands for Similar problems in the past, Allergies, Surgeries, Hospitalization, Injuries, Medications, Immunization, Growth & development Obgyn, and Major illnesses.
After that, the participants were given time to ask some questions to the speaker. Enthusiastically, many participants were curious about the material, so that some questions were asked to the speaker. And then, we played a game for 10 minutes. The game was enjoyable. The participants were given a video, and they need to guess what is the hidden object that was asked in that video. Yup, it also needs concentration! It is a fun concentration.
We finished with the game, and then we proceeded to role play. The participants joined break-out rooms with the cadres that acted as a patient, and of course, the participants were acted as a doctor. The 2nd intervention was more lively and fun. Their progress was impressive. The end of role play is also the end of the activity. This 2nd intervention was closed by a post-test and a photo session.
We hope that we will witness another good progress in the next intervention. Cheers!
