SCOPH CIMSA UI
Based on data released by Kemenkes 2020, 6.8% of Indonesians suffer from Anxiety Disorder. According to our pre-project assessment, there are 38% of respondents who experience various symptoms of anxiety such as feeling restless, irritable, excessive panic, increased heart rate, and sleeping difficulty. Majority of the respondents never tried to seek treatment for the anxiety they were experiencing.
In response to this problem, SCOPH CIMSA UI held Project X to increase people’s knowledge and awareness of anxiety disorder topics and to introduce online-based consultation facilities to the public and helping the participants to cope with their anxiety disorder.
On this Activity, we held a pre-project training for SCOPH UI members about the topic, Anxiety Disorder. Then, we conduct a series of activities including Education Poster Competition, Ruang Rasa form, Mental Health Heroes Campaign Volunteer conducted by 300 volunteers, Webinar with anxiety disorder topic, talk show with psychologist and psychiatrist, and Meditation Class for reducing stress.
The Education Poster Competition was held from 23rd of September to 30th October 2021 with 3 topics, which is Anxiety from Medical perspective, Psychological Perspective, and how to cope with anxiety. Then we made a Ruang Rasa form, a room for people to tell about their anxiety disorder experience anonymously or unanimously. 4 chosen Ruang Rasa participants will get a free online-consultation with a psychologist from HIMPSI.
On the World Mental Health Day 2021, we held a webinar on “All About Anxiety Disorder” with a speaker from FKUI-RSCM Psychiatric Department, dr. Fransiska Kaligis. Project X also held a talk show “How to Find Your Inner Peace” with a psychologist and psychiatrist from LIMPSI and FKUI RSCM therefore the participants could learn about anxiety disorder from Medical and Psychological perspective. On the same day, we held a meditation class with Coach Eko Wdiyanto from Indonesia Board of Hypnotherapy to help participants cope with anxiety. In the last session, we held a fun games session where the participants can express their feelings and also they can show support to each other in the padlet session.
From our activity, there was a 45.35% increase in the pre-posttest score, 300 campaign volunteers, 48 Ruang Rasa Participants, and 4 online-consultations were held. The majority of participants have a better knowledge about anxiety.
At last, anxiety disorder exists and is treatable, therefore, let’s spread the awareness about anxiety disorder.
