CEREAL
(Care for Refugees Health)
SCORP CIMSA FK UNILA
Refugees and asylum seekers are people who need self-protection. The rules regarding refugees and asylum seekers contained in the UN convention on refugees in 1951 are an instrument mutually agreed upon by various countries in the world which becomes the main basis for providing international protection for people who leave their country. Indonesia is one of the affected countries and has a high potential for refugees and asylum seekers to visit. Indonesia is not yet a part of the convention, and so the government has given UNHCR the authority to protect refugees in Indonesia.
There are various obstacles faced by Indonesia regarding the presence of refugees and asylum seekers, especially during the pandemic. This condition makes it difficult for refugees to carry out resettlement and repatriation. Not to mention that in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is increasingly difficult for refugees to survive in Indonesia, their health and safety is being threatened. Therefore, various efforts are needed to help and overcome this.
To celebrate World Refugee Day in 2021, SCORP CIMSA FK Unila held CEREAL (Care for Refugees Health). This activity aims to increase the public knowledge and awareness about distribution and condition the refugees and asylum seekers in Indonesia face that delivered on fundraising, campaign, and podcast.

CEREAL began with fundraising for the refugees and asylum seekers on 12-27nd June 2021, with a total of Rp1.106.456,00 donation raised. There was also an air campaign to celebrate World Refugee Day 2021 through true/false content and the distribution of regufees in Indonesia information, was uploaded on Instagram @cimsaunila.

And the activity was closed by training that was held for members of SCORP CIMSA FK Unila with the topic “How About Human Rights and Health Updates for Refugees and Internally Displaced People?”.
All the topics are important, but less popular in the public.
