Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and remains a significant public health burden in many developing countries. In 2018, estimated that 10 million people suffer from TB disease, with the most cases in Southeast Asia, which was around 44%. Indonesia was in the third rank with the most TB cases in the world after India and China, with a total number of 845,000 cases in 2018. The national target of the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), as stated in Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017 concerning SDGs, sets a target of change of TB prevalence in 2019 into 245 per 100,000 population. However, based on the 2019 Global TB Report, TB incidence in Indonesia in 2018 was 316 per 100,000 population. This means that it still takes hard and incessant efforts to reduce TB incidence in our country.
Moreover, in the 2020-2024 RPJMN, the Indonesian Ministry of Health targets the TB incidence to be 190 per 100,000 population. Therefore, we need to participate in the prevention of TB so that the target of tuberculosis reduction can be achieved by 2024. Providing education to all Indonesian people regarding TB during the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the important messages that SCOPH MSCIA UB tried to convey at the celebration of World Tuberculosis Day as a form of commitment to the realization of TB prevalence reducing target.

Tuberculosis Talk with MSCIA (CARES) is a talk show with tuberculosis survivors as a campaign to raise awareness among students of the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Brawijaya, along with the general public regarding the problem of tuberculosis as well as its relation to the COVID-19 pandemic through providing comprehensive education, as a commemoration to World Tuberculosis Day 2021 with a theme "We Were not Supposed to Get Tuberculosis: Meet a Strong Survivor Who Could Be You." CARES lasts for 45 minutes via Instagram Live of @msciaub. We are working with an external party, the TB-RO / MDR Pejuang Tangguh Foundation (PETA), which helped us meeting a TB survivor named Kak Ully Ulwijaya. We gave some questions to Kak Ully, guided by our moderator, Tasya Ardia Selviana. From CARES, we can get much information that we may not know about TB, especially on how we respond to and increase our awareness about TB. More than 100+ viewers watched Instagram Live, and the IGTV has been watched 105 times.
