BUNDA GEULIS 3rd INTERVENTION

(Berantas Stunting dengan ASI Eksklusif, Imunisasi, dan Sanitasi)

It is finally the third and also the last intervention of SCORA and SCOPH's community development ‘Bunda Geulis”. The third intervention was held from Saturday, September 26^th, 2020 until Sunday, September 27^th, 2020. In our third intervention, we had topics about ‘Exclusive Breastfeeding and Immunization’. Both topics are crucial to prevent stunting as same as the previous interventions, the third intervention was also held virtually via WhatsApp.

The third intervention was divided into two days. On Saturday, September 26^th, 2020, we held a lecture and FGD session about ‘Exclusive Breastfeeding’ with the cadres of Desa Jatiroke, Jatinangor. The lecture was led by dr. Mutiara Rahmani, Sp.A. from AIMI JABAR, using a video. After the lecture, we discussed it with dr. Mutiara. The cadres were allowed to ask questions about ‘Exclusive Breastfeeding’ and its correlation with stunting which then will be answered by dr. Mutiara. After the lecture and discussion, it continued with Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in each group of the cadres. The same as the second intervention, the FGD was held synchronously via WhatsApp video call. Both the lecture and FGD were given to improve the cadres' knowledge about ‘Exclusive Breastfeeding’ and its roles in preventing stunting.

On the last day of the third intervention, Sunday, September 27^th, 2020, we held a lecture about ‘Immunization’ with the cadres. The lecture was given using an infographic poster and led by 2 of the ‘Bunda Geulis' committees. In this lecture, we shared information about Immunization from its definition, type, relation, and importance in preventing stunting. We also opened a discussion with the cadres about ‘Immunization’ with some small quizzes to review the infographic. Finally, to close this third intervention, we chose the most active cadres throughout the interventions to be given a memento from us.

At the end, we had finished our community development successfully this year. Although there were a lot of limitations in executing this project due to the pandemic condition, we hope the materials that were delivered will be useful to the cadres and the people in Desa Jatiroke, Jatinangor and they could stay healthy during pandemic. We hope that the cadres will know more about the importance of breastfeeding, immunization, and sanitation in preventing stunting in children so that it can have an impact on improving health of people in Desa Jatiroke, Jatinangor, especially in stunting.
