SCOME CIMSA is one of the standing committee in CIMSA that focus on improving the quality of medical education in Indonesia. SCOME CIMSA is the facilitator of Indonesia’s medical student to reach the access of insights development on medical education issues and curriculum. SCOME CIMSA also played a role as a place to develop the quality of human resources with the aim to create a high quality member that give a real contribution on developing the medical education system in Indonesia.

The four work domains of SCOME CIMSA are medical education system and curriculum reformation, gaining the participation of medical education development, supporting networks empowerment, and medical student opportunities of education and training expansion to improve the quality of its human resources.

 An event called Book Fair was held by SCOME CIMSA FK UIN SH on Monday, September 21st 2020. Book Fair aimed to introduce medical books and learning media to the first year medical students so that they could find the easier way of studying that suit to them. This event is a way of improving the quality of medical student.

Book Fair was held via Zoom meeting due to the pandemic situation. We gave the information about medical books and learning media such as medical related Instagram accounts and Youtube channels to the audiences, also medical journals. The second and third year medical students help us to share the advantages and disadvantages about the books and the learning media to all of the participant. It was held for 2 hours. We made 12 breakout rooms with 3 tutors and 10 audiences in each room. We gave them pre-test and post-test about the knowledge of medical books and learning media. Audience could freely ask the question after the presentation.

We gave the assessment to audiences before and after the Book Fair. The result of the initial assessment showed that the audiences had not deciding medical books or learning media that suit to them. After the event was over, we gave audiences and committees the final assessment. The result of the final assessment showed increase of medical books knowledge among the audiences along with the average points of pre-test and post-test increased from 46 to 86. Moreover, they say that the event was fun and beneficial so everyone hope this event would be held again for the next year.
