The family was desprate and demand doctors and medical personnels to initiate abortion for the girl immediately. But the girl’s condition did not allow for an abortion to be executed because of medical reasons. What will you do as a medical personnel? What decisions will you make? What will you be focusing on?

Hello, CIMSA !

As one of the medical personnel in the near future, we would be asked for opinions and questions that are related with our patient’s conditions. Those answers, responses, and also solutions are in need to be based on the principles of bioethics.

By that matter of fact, SCOPE and SCORE of CIMSA UPH wanted to introduce and expose knowledge and education about bioethics, but also, about health practice, research fields, and bioethics in cultural differences to not just your future doctors, but also to your future nurses and pharmacists too in this event.

All of participants from this event was also given a pre-event challenge, where participant post a posters about the importance of bioethics in how to solve moral conflicts so that we can make wise decisions and how it could increase the quality of healthcare, hoping that people in our surrounding could also understood about the purpose of bioethics. And can be helpful and be applied in the future as a professional medical personnel for the participants.

We also invited dr. Theo Audi Yanto, Sp.PD, FINASIM as our speaker for this event with so much interesting materials. Also, we were given an interactive lecture and very broad insights about bioethics in what we should do, what to expect, and how to express towards patients. That’s not just the exciting part. Through this event, there’s very fun activities that were done. Such as a group challenge. In the group challenge, participants were divided into groups, and each group was given cases and presented their discussion in a 10 minute drama role plays. Each group was very enthusiastic and could express the values of bioethics very well.
