SCORP CIMSA FK UNRI

In commemoration of Human Rights Day, which is held every December 10, there is a project from SCORP CIMSA FK UNRI, namely ANTARIKSA (Against Ableism with SCORP CIMSA UNRI), which is packaged in the form of a water (social media) campaign. This project takes the theme "Unlearning Ableism," namely, action against discrimination and advancing equality of human rights for persons with disabilities, especially in Indonesia. As SCORP (Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace) is one of the six standing committees of CIMSA which is engaged in providing education, one of which is in the field of human rights and peace. This project was also created based on the CIMSA tagline, namely "Empowering Medical Students" and "Improving Nation's Health," which is to increase the knowledge and concern of students and the community towards the rights of persons with disabilities, especially against discrimination.

At this time, people cannot be separated from the Internet, as it is known that the Internet has many positive impacts, one of which is getting information quickly. Therefore SCORP CIMSA FK UNRI took advantage of this great opportunity by organizing the ANTARIKSA (Against Ableism with SCORP CIMSA UNRI) project on social media podcasts, which can be accessed on Spotify. It is intended that this campaign can provide education and can increase awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities, especially against discrimination to the broader community, especially the Indonesian people.

ANTARIKSA is an activity that contains matters relating to fighting discrimination against persons with disabilities and is delivered in the form of a conversation, which will then be recorded. This activity was filled by Silvi Angelia May Purba, a national SCORP trainer, Puteri Lotusia Nurulummi, the LORP CIMSA FK UNRI, and Allisya Fathia Seprin as the moderator.

Information on fighting discrimination against PwDs is essential, especially in Indonesia. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 15% of the world's population of more than billions of people live with some form of disability, and 80% live in developing countries. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Basic Health Research data (Riskesdas) divides persons with disabilities into three instrument classifications of age groups, the percentage of persons with disabilities based on their classification according to age groups, 3.3% children 5-17 years, 18-59 years old 22%, and elderly or more than 60 years is 25.7%.    Persons with disabilities do not mean that they cannot live without other people; this is what the Indonesian people and even the world need to address. Some people do not even know that what they have done to persons with disabilities may be a form of discrimination. For example, people with disabilities are often provided with assistance, even when they do not need it. This can lead to feelings of helplessness. Therefore SCORP CIMSA FK UNRI made this activity to address matters in this form and can increase awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities and also as an effort to support the 2006 Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by the United Nations (UN) on Equality and Non - Discrimination.
